Walkthrough

Installation and Running

  1. Follow the instructions in the manual from the box to install Monkey Island 2 on your computer.
  2. Run the "monkey2" program.
  3. Solve the code wheel challenge.
  4. Select the Full Game option.

Part I - The Largo Embargo

  1. Walk across the bridge and pay taxes and fees to the local government.
  2. Look at the "No Digging" sign. It looks a bit wonky. Pick it up to reposition it. Keep the shovel.
  3. Walk to the left and go to the map maker's office, and take some paper. Whilst Wally is rubbing his eyes, steal his monocle.
  4. Walk upwards to the Laundry, and take the bucket. Ask the pirate politely-"pretty pretty please with sugar, nuts, cherry, and chocolate sprinkles on top"-telling him it's a matter of life and death, and that you'll be his best friend. He'll then let you have it.
  5. Leave, and sneak into the Galley of the Bloody Lip via the window at the bottom. Without being caught, take the knife and escape back through the window.
  6. Head back to the bridge and go right.
  7. Walk to the beach in the north with Bart and Fink and pick up the stick on the ground.
  8. Head back left and then walk to the Swamp to the east, and scoop up some swamp mud with the bucket. Step into the coffin and sail to the east to the Voodoo Lady's shack.
  9. Inside, take the string from the shelves, and head back out again via the coffin.
  10. Back in town, go to the hotel at the very end.
  11. Inside, look at old Pegbiter and set him loose by using the knife on the rope, but make sure you take some of his cheese squiggles from his bowl after he zooms away.
  12. Sneak into Largo's room and steal his toupee and new T-shirt.
  13. Close the door, place the bucket on top of the door, and hide behind the screen.
  14. After Largo has left, follow him to the laundry. After he has stormed off, open the box and, using the stick, rope, and cheese squiggles, trap the rat.
  15. Sneak back to the Galley, and let the rat have a swim in the vichyssoise (a cold soup!).
  16. Walk to the Sunken Gallon entrance, and ask the barkeeper about business. Wait a while, then wipe away the spit on the wall with the paper.
  17. Ask about the stew, then apply for the new job opening.
  18. Skip work on your first day by climbing through the window.
  19. Go back outside via the window, and leave town via the bridge to the right.
  20. On the map screen, walk to the cemetery in the south-east.
  21. Walk to the hill at the far end of the cemetery.
  22. Using the shovel, dig up the grave with "Marco Largo LeGrande" as the epitaph.
  23. Leave the cemetery and head back into town.
  24. Walk to Largo's room and, on the back of the door, take the laundry ticket.
  25. Give the ticket to Marty at the laundry to get Largo's bra.
  26. Head back to the Swamp at the east of Scabb Island.
  27. Using the coffin, row east to the Voodoo Lady's shack.
  28. Catch up and make small talk with the Voodoo Lady, then ask about business. Inquire about ordering a Voodoo Doll of Largo LeGrande, and give her all the ingredients you've collected: bone, bra, toupee, and spit.
  29. Run back to Largo's hotel room, and stick pins into the doll to get rid of that dim-witted toad.
  30. After talking with the Voodoo Lady, head south-west to the peninsula and board the houseboat.
  31. Ask Captain Dread about chartering a ship. Give him the monocle and 20 pieces of eight so he can set sail.

Part II - Four Map Pieces

  1. Breathe in that sea air and walk back to the bridge of the Jolly Rasta, then talk to Captain Dread. Ask about possible destinations.
  2. Set sail for Booty Island.
  3. Walk to the path to the left, past the cannon.
  4. Walk to the Big Tree to the north of the island.
  5. The rustic outhouse can be found at the back, to the right of the tree.
